With a good credit score an applicant will receive prompt response from many lenders, all of them offering low interest rates and low down payment options. The loan amount offered also may be high. On the contrary a low credit score would result in a lot of rejection from various mortgage financers. Because creditors wouldn’t come forward easily to give credit to individuals that have a history of difficulty in repaying existing loans. After all, creditors take risk when they finance mortgages against the credit history of a debtor. Naturally, they will wish to remain on the safe side and pick up less risky ones that have good credit histories. A good credit score means less chance of missing on payments and therefore less risky.

But there are some real risk takers that will come forward to finance mortgages for individuals with bad credit scores. They would charge high down payments and always high interest rates though. They may also fix additional charges for every little paper work and may charge high closing rates. The loan amount offered will also be considerably less. The individual with poor credit scores will not have much choice but to accept the terms and conditions as there are no other alternatives. This is a tight situation and to avoid this you must have a good credit score.

People with bad credit may fall in to the trap of ‘secured loans’. Secured loans are the ones where the loan applicant offers an asset as collateral security. The lender becomes secure about the repayment of the loan and not the borrower. Securing a loan with bad credit score becomes easy only when the applicant is willing to offer some asset as collateral security. This again is a very dangerous situation where an individual runs the risk of losing his entire collateral asset in case of failing to pay the loan installments in time. An individual should always avoid such type of a loan.

Resort properties normally require large amounts of finance which a person with bad credit may find it difficult to obtain. So it is always advisable to keep your credit score high. Incase the credit score becomes low due to unavoidable financial reasons it can be improved upon. There is no need to lose hope simply because a person has a low credit score. If the property that he intends to buy has good equity he should go out and try to obtain finances for it. There are many sub prime lenders willing to offer their services.

If your credit score is good, chances are you will receive and partake of some of the better things in life. But the opposite couldn’t be more true if your credit score is bad. There are very few creditors who will extend good credit to people with bad credit.

But what if it wasn’t your fault? What if you had to make the simple choice between eating and making your car payment? What if a job lay-off, a medical emergency, or some other personal crisis prevented you from making a timely payment? Should you be forced to pay for this for the next seven to ten years?

Can you do anything to repair credit score? The credit bureaus are judge and jury in relation to your credit score file. But there is one difference: a judge will at least give you the chance to defend yourself in court before passing judgement – and we are supposed to have a chance to face our accusers before judgement is passed. Not so regarding your credit score file.

The truth is that your creditors and the credit bureaus have been swapping information about you behind your back for a long time. You are not asked or given any benefit of defense when this happens.

The system — as it stands today — does not give you the opportunity to defend yourself before inscribing your credit score file with negative information, even if it is not yours! You must prove to them that the negative information on your credit score file is incorrect, invalid or otherwise erroneous before they will remove it. That means, in their eyes, you are guilty until proven innocent!

Why don’t they give us a chance to defend ourselves before placing negative information on our credit files? Well, they don’t have to! The credit bureaus are private companies and corporations. They are in business to make a profit. And that profit comes from one place and one place only: your creditors.

Your creditors pay to see your credit score file information and believe it to be true and correct. They also reciprocate by exchanging your credit information with the credit bureaus. So, your creditors pay the credit bureaus and the credit bureaus are in business to make a profit.

Your credit score report, the information it contains, and any opportunity to repair credit score, are not important or of any consequence to anyone but you. That’s why you are the only one that can do anything about it.

You need to find a legal and reliable self-help program to repair credit score with which you can restore your good credit. It is not necessary to employ a ‘legal-beagle’. You can do this yourself, and without any cost.

Everyone deserves a second chance — a chance to re-establish a good credit score file. The process may not be a ‘walk-in-the-park’, but it is straightforward enough, provided you are connected to the most up-to-date and accurate advice from professionals, some of whom have been successful with tens of thousands of repair credit score cases, year-on-year.

1. Get a copy of your credit report and look it over carefully. See if any obvious errors jump out at you, such as accounts you didn’t open, bad credit loans, or payments you didn’t miss. If you happen to see any fraudulent accounts on your credit report, you need to get them removed as soon as possible. Millions of credit transactions take place every month and it’s always possible that a simple mistake has taken place, but you don’t want somebody else’s mistake looking like one of yours.

It’s a good idea to review your credit report at least once per year. You know the old saying: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It couldn’t be more true here! You can find your free credit score by going directly to companies like TransUnion Canada or Equifax USA and Equifax Canada

2. Do you have any credit cards you’re not using? If what’s in your wallet isn’t being used, you should close the account because open accounts sitting on your credit report are reducing your credit worthiness. The reason for this is because available or “open” credit is often viewed as negatively as utilized credit. Plus, if you close credit card accounts that you’re not using you won’t be tempted to buy that awesome set of steak knives you saw advertised on your satellite TV at three o’clock in the morning while you were eating that monster bowl of ice cream.

3. Even if you have a balance on a credit card, call the credit card company and cancel the account. A lot of people don’t know this, but you don’t have to have a zero balance to cancel an account. You can cancel the card and pay the account off under the terms of your card membership agreement. Don’t believe me? Dig out the terms and conditions disclosure you got in the mail when you received your card and you’ll see that I’m right on the money. Not only will this help improve your credit score, but you’ll find it easier to sit down or close your purse.

4. Do you have late payments languishing on your credit report? If you do, and you’re current right now, you can call the creditor and ask them if they’re willing to change that late payment to an on-time payment. You have about a 50% chance of getting your late payment removed, but it’s better than the 0 % chance you have by not asking!

5. Do you have any charged-off accounts or missed payments on your credit report that are older than two years? If you do, there’s an excellent chance you can get those entries removed as well. In most cases, creditors are only required to keep records for credit transactions for two years. Simply write to the credit reporting agency and dispute that entry and asked for written verification of the accuracy of that record. If the creditor can’t prove it, the credit reporting agency is required to remove it.

Your credit rating is quite an important piece of recorded history. It tells something of your ability to manage financial debt to a possible lender who may have no other way of knowing.

You may feel that it is pointless to think about buying your own home if you have a less-than-perfect credit rating. However, in-roads can be made into this problem, and with patience you could be house-hunting this time next year!

Let us suppose you feel that your credit rating has been a little ‘off-color’ and that your record is not looking the way you would like it to. Some of us experience bad times, divorces, patches of unemployment, illness – there are many good reasons why a person can have a bad credit history.

Unfortunately these bad times can be mirrored in our credit rating. Failure to pay bills on time, or pay them at all, will be listed in the history.

But now life has been good to you, and things are under control, so how to get rid of all the black marks from previous years? Well, in effect, you can’t! Sorry, that is the bad news – but there is good news too! There are two ways around this problem that are fairly easy.

Some banks will set you up with a way to give you another chance! Many won’t, but there is at least one national bank that will consider helping you.

They will issue you with a credit card that carries a low credit limit of say $200.00 to $500.00 and you will deposit the equivalent sum of money in a new bank account at their bank.

Your money will not be used by you, it will sit there. It is like insurance for the bank. Every month you will use your credit card (make sure you keep a running debt on it), and every month you will pay the card off, or pay the minimum payment or a larger amount. This must be paid on time each month, as you are attempting to prove that you have control over your finances now.

The second way is this: there is a credit card company that is always sending out application forms nationwide; they actually advertise that you don’t need to have a good credit rating to get a credit card with them

If you get one of their cards, and pay off at least your minimum payment every month, you will be building credit. Now that you are trying to re-establish good credit, there are three golden rules.

Pay all your bills. Pay minimum balance when you can’t afford more. If you miss payments, get them up to date and do not let it happen again. i.e. request direct debit payments.

Even the most lenient mortgage lenders require a good credit history for at least a year, so if you follow these tips, you could be on your way to buying a home next year!

Ah Credit Repair, what can be said about it that hasn’t already been said? Let’s look at this a bit differently shall we? Instead of focusing on how to repair your credit, let’s look at what bad credit and good credit can do for you.

Plain and simple, and this is no secret, the better your credit the better your buying power is. That’s just common sense, right? Here’s another way to look at this situation;

Bad Credit = Options

Good Credit = Lots Of Options

What do I mean by this? Well, it’s a concept that I could go into a great deal of depth with, but it would be a LONG article, so we’ll save that portion for another time. But in basic purchasing power terms, look at it like this…

If you have bad credit, it’s like saying “I can get either this or that.”

If you have good credit, it’s like saying “I don’t have to get this or that, I can get whatever I want whenever I want it.”

Do you understand the difference? You still have options with bad credit, but with good credit you’re options have expanded exponentially! So the question then turns to whether or not you, personally, are in favor of having more options. If the answer is yes, then you either must have good credit or you want to turn your bad credit into good credit. If the answer is you don’t want to have options, then do nothing, your credit is right where you need it to be.

The fact of the matter is it’s up to you to decide whether you want to persue credit repair. Once you decide to change your situation, the world of options then opens up to you.

First off, you may not need to write a sample letter for credit repair at all. Often times you can dispute the bogus charges on your credit, right online. If you have applied for a loan recently and been denied credit, you’re entitled to a free credit report.

Want you receive your free credit report it will most likely have a link or web site that you can visit. This web site will be one of the three credit bureaus that send out your credit report. No matter of these are revolving charges credit card Visa and MasterCard American Express charges all credit can be disputed.

Often times these web sites will make it so simple, but all you do is simply click at your contesting this charge in submit it. Just like if you had gone to the trouble of creating a sample letter for credit repair this form will act even more effective. Once you’ve submitted a dispute for a bad mark against your credit hat’s all you need to do for now. Within 30 to 45 days the credit bureau will show you results online as to whether or not the bad credit mark has been withdrawn or remains on your credit.

It may seem too simple, but it really is that simple. Those three words will cause the credit bureaus to contact the companies that have bad marks against you and simply asked them to prove the accusation. If that company does not respond back to the credit bureau in an appropriate period of time use the 30 days. They’re forced to remove the mark against you.

Collection accounts can remain on your personal credit report for 7 years from the date of the initial missed payment that led to the collection (the original delinquency date) if not removed or disputed.

If you haven’t paid your collection account yet, negotiate with the debt collection agency. Let them know that you plan to pay them off. You can try to negotiate less than the full amount if you want. The important thing is getting them to agree to remove the item from your credit report. It’s wise to get this agreement in writing before submitting your payment.

If you’ve paid a collection account in full and the item remains on your report. You will want to dispute the item with the credit bureaus by mail. When a collection account is paid in full, it will be marked “paid collection” on the credit report. It is NOT removed from your report and is still considered a negative account. For this reason, you want to have the account removed from your credit report.

Always remember that the burden of proof is on the credit bureaus. You have nothing to prove to them. They have to prove to YOU that the account is yours. Simply dispute by stating something like “Please provide documentation that the following account belongs on my credit report and that my rights have not been violated; otherwise please delete this damaging data immediately.” That’s all you need to say. One line. The credit bureaus then must conduct an investigation; they have 30 days to do so. If the collection agency can’t verify the account (most of the time they can’t), then they must remove the collection account from your credit report.

When money is being borrowed and get repaid, one uses the terms called credit history report. Money is lent out only in case of a satisfactory credit history. Repayment of loan is set on a target that resembles a persons paying capability if at all a person has ever tried to repair his credit history. How the credit status gets reported? When a person gets a loan from a bank, or a credit card, the information is collected by a credit bureau. The information chart gets updated regularly along with change in address and other details.

If any credit history is there from that time, also gets added there. Finance is all about getting a credit and paying them off in the stipulated period after a productive session. Credit paid without any hindrance improves the credit score of a person based on which there will be a better credit next time. Also, credit cards get approved depending on this score; car loans can be had with this credit rating, rental applications are approved and one can place the house on mortgage for business purpose. Since all activities related to finance are important ones, one should immediately get ones credit repaired. This takes time because credit sores are taken into account over a period of time. It is futile to lose time not getting the score put to repair at the first opportunity.

Bad credit score makes you ineligible for another loan. When the credit repair starts, a person is asked some questions and the organization in charge of credit repair comes up with a proposal best suited to the customer.A credit is hard to repair if one goes for it very late. Time elapsed will make the interest amount go up, which can quickly climb to become almost equal to the principal. In that case, it is double the loan amount.

The danger of having a bad credit history is that it becomes unfathomable to the consumer most of the time which results in containing many errors victimizing the consumer.Repairing the credit history starts with the elimination of negative elements in the credit report. That normally expects the consumer to live under a lot of restrictions till credit is erased. Comfort and credit do not always go hand in hand, and there is no magic formula to repair a bad situation without some painful measures, so one has to start it without delay and with a lot of conviction.

These measures will also call for lot of financial discipline so that in case of recurrence of debt there will be no repeated bad credit history. When a person is under bad credit, he/she may not be aware of the elements that cause bad credit score which may include bad judgments, late payments, bankruptcies, tax liens, unnecessary possessions that demands some investment and hence may be eating away cash and the ability to understand as to what is not desirable to have at the time of crisis. Once this is sorted out, calculation of the installments and ways of repayment start taking shape.

A recent survey of a random selection of people from across the US consisting of about 5000 people resulted in a very surprising discovery – almost half of those surveyed had no idea of what their credit score is or even what range it fell into. Even more surprising was the discovery that more than a third of those surveyed said that it had been more than five years since they had even seen a copy of their credit report.

Such news is both surprising as well as showing that there is a distinct lack of knowledge amongst most consumers as to why knowing one’s credit score is important information. A significant number of those surveyed admitted that they had NEVER requested nor seen a copy of their credit report and had absolutely no idea what data it contained about them.

The survey was aimed at a good cross section of the public, not the super rich and not the poverty level either, but smack dab in the middle class.

This illustrates and emphasizes the fact that the majority of consumers do not understand the far reaching impact of one’s credit report and credit score. Credit scores are used in many more places today than ever before. They are routinely used when you are applying for a new job, and there is a fair chance that you may even be denied the job on the basis of what your credit score is, if it is deemed to be too low. Recently, credit scores have been used when car insurance companies are determining how much you should pay for your car insurance rates, where they have allegedly confirmed that people with lower credit scores make a statistically significant greater number of claims than those with higher credit scores.

Another place where a low credit score can hit you squarely in the wallet is with a mortgage loan. Say you have a mortgage loan of $172,000 which is not unreasonable in this day and age. If your credit score is under about 580 versus a score of over 760, this can make a difference of more than $150,000 over the life of the loan, just based on the difference in interest that a lower credit score would get on the mortgage. Is that enough to open your eyes?

Another study recently conducted estimates that more than 75% of consumers could benefit by disputing inaccurate and incorrect items being reported on their credit reports. You see, there are three major credit reporting agencies, and each of them maintains its own credit history profile on each consumer. Since they do not share information, they each have their own distinct view of you and your credit history, or in other words, none of them really have a complete picture. In addition, it is a well known fact that the majority of consumer credit reports contain errors, and unless the consumer disputes those errors, the errors will remain, which have the net effect of lowering your credit score.

Take the time to understand what your credit history means, how it is reported, and what areas of your life are affected by your credit score. Then get copies of your credit report from the credit bureaus and make sure that each and every item is correct. You mat find that by correcting the errors, your credit score will rise and you won’t even have to do anything different!

Improving your credit score is easier than you may think. Whether you have good credit or you have bad credit, it’s always in your best interest to improve your credit score. That little three digit number speaks volumes about your financial history and is a pivotal number for your financial future. Having a higher credit rating can save you thousands of dollars in interest when financing and offers you many more options in financing. Improving your credit score can be surprisingly simple.

First, check your credit score online. You can get a free credit report at the link below. Several companies, such as Transunion, Equifax, and Experian can also guide you through the process and project your credit rating. Once you’ve checked your credit score, check your credit history. Make sure it is accurate. Sometimes you can improve your credit score drastically just by removing erroneous or fraudulent charges from your credit history. There are pre-made forms to make this easier.

So you’ve checked your credit score and it is free of errors and you still want to improve your score. There are experts in the education about how your credit is rated and they can help you make better financial decisions to help improve your credit score. Credit ratings are based on the number of credits you have issued, your payments histories, your total amount still owed, the length of time you’ve had credit established, and how many new credit accounts you’ve recently opened. Add up these figures and you arrive at your credit score. Little things can make a huge difference when it comes to improving your credit score.

Simple things such as paying your bills on time can add up to better credit. Keeping the balance low on your outstanding credit cards or only opening credit accounts that you plan on using can also make a difference in your credit score. Keeping your revolving balance at 30% of your high credit limit will help maximize your credit scores. Disputing negative items with the credit repositories can be very difficult. So that is why we have created forms to assist you in removing negative items from your credit report.

Quick credit fixes can be difficult to come by. Unfortunately negative credit items affect your credit rating much more quickly than positive credit items.
