A dead woman’s stolen credit card

Laneea Mele Taufa, who is on probation for forgery, was arrested last week after police say she stole and used a dead woman’s credit card, police said.

Taufa was arrested in the 1300 block of West Isabella Avenue about 9 a.m. Thursday on suspicion of theft of a credit card, police records show.

The victim’s husband told police his deceased wife’s Shell credit card was stolen and used for $90.41 on Nov. 13 in the 2000 block of West University Drive, police records show.

Taufa was caught on a surveillance video using the card, records show. Taufa’s booking photo and the video match, police said. Taufa later told police she did use the stolen card.

Taufa was convicted of forgery two years ago and is on probation, records show.
